  Added more ram to my computer from DDR400 512 mb to 1.5 gb by adding in a 1 gig ram just to play Heroes V.
  
  Before: On medium settings lagged badly when I move my mouse around.
  
  After: Instead of lagging badly, maybe a few skipped frames once every few minutes.
  
  Actually there are other possible bottlenecks to consider like the video card, motherboard and the cpu speed and type. Although in my case I was using a radeon 9800 pro and athlon xp 3000 which imo sounded more than adequate in handling the task at hand.

  i'm using 3 kingston 512 ddr ram but when i use cpu-z to dectect, it shown only 1gb.Pls advise.. thanks

  Right click on My Computer, select Properties. Check how much RAM is displayed there.

  Your motherboard is only able to support the maximum of 1GB of RAM. Or if you are using integrated graphics card, it could have taken up 512MB of the RAM.

  when i try using only 2 ram cards, it keep rebooting or sometimes hang.it works when i using only 1 or 3.The motherboard i using can support up to 2 gb.As u mention earlier, it may taken up 512mb due to graphic card but i been using only 1 512 mb for quite sometimes before adding another 2 512 ram card.Pls advise..Thanks

  Try slotting one of the RAM in another slot if you are using 2 pieces of RAM. RAM slots are notorious for working fine for one slot, the other slot will give you problems.
  
  Your RAM might be faulty, since it shows a maximum of 1GB. Exchange the new pieces of RAM for new pieces of RAM.
  
  If new pieces of RAM doesn't work, you have to ask a professional to check your motherboard.

  hmm...I know more ram speeds up time and saves the hard disk precious lifespan, but which one consumes more power when its subject to constant use?

  Yup, it reduces your reliant on virtual memory, which uses your hard disk.

  It depends your hard disk spinning rate. The higher it is, the more power it consumes as it can access data faster.
  
  A hard disk spinning at 5400rpm uses less power than a hard disk spinning at 7200rpm.

  If both were to run continuously for an hour, which one will consume more power, the RAM or the Hard Disk?

  The hard disk? It has moving parts and generates more heat

  For those using Outlook Express, this tweak makes OE loads even faster. On this AMD 1GHz and using 256MB of RAM system, it loads faster than it loads IE. Cool tweak. Credits to TweakXP team.
  
  First, uninstall Windows Messenger.
  
  Go to Start > Run and type in this:
  
  RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
  
  Make sure you type in this carefully, or you will have to re-install Windows.
  
  After uninstalling, start Registry Editor (Start > Run, type in regedit)
  
  Navigate to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express.
  
  Move your mouse to the pane on the right. Right click in the right pane and select New > Dword value.
  
  Give it the name Hide Messenger. Right click on Hide Messenger and select Modify and set the value to 2.
  
  Next, go to Start > Run and type in services.msc.
  
  Find Messenger. Double click it. Click on the Stop button. Let Windows stop the service. Once it's completed, change the Startup type to Disabled. Click OK and exit services.

  The blue box shows that the Default key is empty. It is not DELETED. Only the value is.

  hey.. was goin to buy 2 512mb ram at SITEX. but luckily the sales person honestly told me... if i know correctly whats my ram....
  
  mine is HP Pavilion.. DDR PC3200. the thing is.. there's two type. CL 2.5 and CL 3. can somebody tell me what's the difference? and must i really open my comp to check? coz i went to the crucial website.. it only gives me those infos..
  wana speed up my comp, using alot of photoshop and videos stufffs. so pls help..
  
  PS: how to get to sim lim? and is it trustworthy? coz i heard alot of fake memorycards there...
