Why are Singaporeans so indifferent to world news?

Every major newspaper's headlines today is talking about the landmark bill in America that is, the passing of the health bill reform.
But yet not many Singaporeans even know about it or even bother reading about it even though it is in the front page of all major news media outlets. Be it online or in print.

WE are having our personal domestic problems with our own CPF and many others. Should we pay more attention to it first, and then react to the world or react to the world news, then deal with our own problem?
My guess, if the world problem is gonna be our problem, we will be the first to chiong. Otherwise, we will simply ignore and bo chup.
Let's face it: Obama said on the news last night there are 18,000 Americans who died because they do not have health insurance.... And I am suppose to go , Oh dear..... Poor thing.....
I wonder who will say that when I strike any major illness and insurance is not enough to cover me or my family when I don't die, but struggling to live....

Well, the passing of the healthcare bill is of no concern to Singapore, as compared to the many other news that are currently making the headlines(APEC for example). The media must priorities the news they deem important to us, and publish them in order of importance, otherwise, the newsapers will be as thick as the dictionary and the news broadcast will be 5 hours long. Not that we should close up our world to only news that matter to us, knowing what's happening to us is also very important, just that well, they are not that important to us, and you should be able to find it at some really remoted corner of the newspapers. Yup, that's all! :) Cheers! :)

People more worrying about Immigrant issue than to bother about USA stupid health bills. In State, without a Health insurance, you are death.
