Chia Ming Jin(deceased) and 10 other SP students asked a China girl out to a lounge. Then the China girl asked 3 China guys out. The 3 China guys attacked Chia in the toilet and stabbed him in his right leg. He was sent to the hospital but died because of excessive loss of blood. the ah tiong probably stabbed an artery? you bleed out pretty fast when that happens unless someone ties a tourniquet in time.

yeah.. leg.. probably the femoral artery.. one of the biggest arteries in the human body
if not taken care of and the bleeding stopped (and it is NOT easy to stop that bleeding) the victim dies within minutes...

Femoral artery rupture.
It can be very difficult to stop the rupture there, even with a tourniquet.
You watched Black Hawk Down? There's a scene where a medic tried to stop a femoral artery rupture by literally clamping the artery (and failed).

So many assumptions you're making over here.
Firstly, being at a lounge doesn't mean that they're drinking alcohol. Maybe 11 of them ask the girl out to drink coke?
Secondly, did he really start the fight? Or was he being picked on? You don't know, I don't know. Only those who were over there knows.
I'm saying all these based on the summary which TS gave so if I got anything wrong, please correct me.

then they got into a heated argument during their drinking/singing session. the victim was then cornered by the 3 chinese when he went toilet.
personal opinions:
I dun think anyone would want to kill if they weren't provoked into doing so. the victim must be damn cocky or whatsoever, to be singled out.
