KAGAWA —
A 45-year-old unemployed woman has been arrested for interfering with police in the line of duty, accused of making 80 nuisance calls to police from midday on May 7 to the early hours of the next morning.
Police from Takamatsukita police station said Kikuyo Nishiyama told them in one of the calls that she had killed someone, causing officers to rush to the scene of the reported incident, while in other calls she remained silent. The woman made most of the calls from her cell phone with user information blocked, but in some of the calls, she left her real name and address.
Police said the woman lives by herself and was quoted as saying: “I’ve got a grudge against the police. I wanted to get even with them.”
