* "The IPCC has actually become a closed circuit; it doesn't listen to others. It doesn't have open minds ... . I am really amazed that the Nobel Peace Prize has been given on scientifically incorrect conclusions by people who are not geologists." -- Indian geologist Dr. Arun D. Ahluwalia at Punjab University and a board member of the U.N.-supported International Year of the Planet.

IPCC "are incorrect because they only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity." -- Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera, a researcher at the Institute of Geophysics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
* "It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don't buy into anthropogenic global warming." -- U.S. Government Atmospheric Scientist Stanley B. Goldenberg of the Hurricane Research Division of NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
* "Even doubling or tripling the amount of carbon dioxide will virtually have little impact, as water vapor and water condensed on particles as clouds dominate the worldwide scene and always will." -- Geoffrey G. The report also includes new peer-reviewed scientific studies and analyses refuting man-made warming fears and a climate developments that contradict the theory.
I think it's more likely these 650 leading scientists are paid to lie. By not doing anything to at all to solve the global warming issue, developed countries have the most to gain, isn't it?
For it is extremely costly to the developed countries to clean up the mess.
I bet this 31,000 scientists, including 9000 with Ph.Ds are also paid to lie, unlike the UN's IPCC and all the other companies set to profit from carbon trading- http://georgewashington2.blogspot.com/2008/12/carbon-trading-is-scam.html
Instead of being imprisoned in the perception that global warming is real, why not be open to the possibility that it may just be a scam that, far from saving the environment, is another corporate gimmick.
After all, in the pre-WWII period, global temperatures rose in an un-industrialised world. After WWII, temperatures fell while the global economy developed. Up till the 1970s, scientists were fearing an ice age. It was during the recession of the 1970s that temperatures again started to rise. And today, the warming is no different. In fact, the warming stopped in 1998. While UN scientists reported that, the IPCC and the MSM continue to engage in doublethink and lie to the public.
I'm more worried that if humans do not plant trees to reverse the shrinking rainforests, the polar bears will become extinct.
Polar bears are smarter than Al Gore

regardless of whether it is a scam... it is still a good thing to take care of the place you live in.
You don't need scientists to tell you that your house is a mess. You just clean it up anyway cos.. uhh.. its your house.
I agree, but while the rest of the world goes "green", its business as usual for the corporate fatcats. Their motives are far from altruistic.
As the article above shows, carbon trading is a corporate scam.
i think i will tend to agree that global warming is a scam.
what is the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere anyway? its 0.3%.
doubling or tripling it will not have much impact, since it will never exceed the 1% mark.
CO2 gas is inert, unlike oxygen. (increased oxygen concentration will cause increased difficulty in extinguishing fires, since fires will burn more fiercely.)
you can read Michael Crichton's "State of Fear" for more on the alternative hypothesis that the earth is cooling, instead of warming.
Take note, although the author presents his ideas in a form of novel, the story is backed up by official reports and studies by scientist.
the economic model is a lie too.. but economists who have nothing to lose but everything to gain continue to perpetuate it without even trying to find a way...
It does not explain away the increasing severity of storms, droughts, floods, hurricanes and other disasters.
there're some reports that say it's just a natural cycle that earth is going through. It's not man-made. That was the explaination for the rise in temperatures too.
no idea which side is telling the truth

Actually there is no evidence that the severity of natural disasters is increasing, only the increased media attention in today's world of instant news. Just like the Vietnam war wasn't really that bad by the standards of wars but the the media in the US blown it out of proportion.
Furthermore many natural disasters such as tsunamis and earthquakes are definitely not caused by global warming but rather the shifting of tectonic plates.
Just wanted to add my 2 pence.
I agree. Another example of the conditioning power of the MSM monster.
Why focus on such a harmless factor (we are made of CO2) and ignore weapons like HAARP if you want to narrow down a cause of severe natural disasters.
well, all that carbon was locked in the ground many years ago which is now being thrown into the air as carbon dioxide..
ever visit a greenhouse?
that's the "greenhouse effect"
anyway, i see the ice storm and raise you one northwest passage that climate change is happening...
Sure, thats in a real greenhouse. On a global scale, the climate has just too many variables for climate models to predict. Ice core data shows that the CO2 lags behind temperatures by 800 years.
There's a reason why its called climate change and not global warming. Even if climate change is really happening, its probably due to natural causes not the 0.0068% of anthropogenic CO2 that industry emits into the atmosphere.
uh huh..
so, why is it there is suddenly a northwest passage?
btw... climate change or not, fake or not, there is a tipping point.. i hope we've not passed it...
It could be that the Sun was increasing output, though it is lapsing into inactivity again, thats why global temperatures are falling. The thing is that the evidence for man-made warming is hardly substantial. But due to the MSM fear-mongering, people have taken to believing it even though the evidence is against man-made warming.
If so-called climate change is natural, then the carbon trading scam is just another corporate gimmick and part of a malthusian agenda to stiffle development in the Third World.

Just what's so bad about carbon-trading?
Carbon-trading pays a little for market failure. But that it stifles growth for developing countries can't be ignored.

Yup, keep the Third World enbroiled in civil war and western-backed resource wars so that they cant become a threat to western corporate hegemony.
But actually that article, in my opinion is lame. So what if those incumbent banks make dough from carbon?
Because, what cannot be abused?
Just about anything in this world can be poked and then revealed to be something else!
There has to be a better reason why carbon trading is a scam.
I dont really believe in global warming but can anyone explain to me if icebergs are really melting and whether ocean level are really rising?
"At the top of the world, the International Arctic Research Center reported last month, there was 29% more Arctic sea ice this year than last."

It takes a hell lot of energy to heat up the oceans. Think about it, 70% of the earth's surface. Taking the total volume of water... thats why the ice core records show a 800 year lag between temperature and CO2. As the Earth heats up, heating up the oceans, they release CO2. Not the other way round as has been portrayed by the lying MSM.
Soon the Earth may be too cold to live in.
