I think is a skin disorder. Maybe there some germs that infected his foot when he got that 'accident' and it starts growing.
For me, I got 9 warts on my left foot last year and i dealt with it for 4 months till I visited the National Skin Centre and got it treated with cryotherapy (a therapy where they spray liquid nitrogen on your foot to freeze the bacteria and viruses at the 'root' of the wart.) Then, I need to comeback each week for 5 times to get it treated and on the 3rd day of Christmas 2006, My warts are gone. -

Creepy. At first when they mentioned trees, I thought they mean that those growth are actually vegetable matters. Other than fungi, I dont think any other kinds of vegetable will grow and feed on human flesh.
