This is quite a sad day for me because some of the aspects of the tournament is rejected by Cheng San CC Managing Committee especially the fact that we allow non-trained streetfighter to enter the tournament...
However, having said that they still allow me to explore the idea further and organise a workshop instead where, of course, it is mainly about sparring with each other in a controlled fight using the rules and regulations that has been formulated for the MTT...
Hence we are still going ahead with this complete with referees on the 15th Nov as scheduled...
I am inviting everyone for a cross training session on thursday, 29th Oct from 8pm to 9:30pm at Cheng San CC... Yes there will be lots od sparring there as well...
I guess this is a blessing in disguise... and I am glad that Cheng San CC gives us the blessings to explore the concept further...
But I still need to charge the participants a fee of not more that $10 because I need to cover the referees for the seminar.
However, the cross-training session on the 29th October at Cheng San CC is F.O.C.
Hello guys,
I hope after the watching this video clip you will get a better understanding about the tournament format...
All participants enjoyed themselves thoroughly and by sparring they understood exactly the objective that we are trying to achieve...
I am organizing another tryouts on the 15th of Nov (Sunday) from 12 noon to 6pm... I really hope more will participate this time... please write to me at [email protected] if you want to find out more...
Thank you eastpaw... I am glad that you liked it and appreciate the direction we are heading...
There are few very good comments that came out of it and will lay the stones of foundation for this tournament.
First off... all the instructions such as call for start and stop will be in English... to start we will use "GO" and stop we will use "BREAK"...
We need your suggestion to rename the tournament into something more generic... so far the names "Fight Games" and "Combat Arena"... Need more names to surface so that can increase more participation from all...
i mma can join?
All are welcome... As long as you spar within the rules... One more thing... will you still join if I say that this concept does not allow hitting the head (area just below the neck to the head) and no ground fights...
If you don't mind that at all, please write to me at [email protected]. Better still call me at 97600334... My name is ZUL
mma no groundfight?? can do holds?
It is basically a hit and takedown fight. Contenders will gain points by hitting significantly (full contact) at the legal areas or executing takedowns through throws and sweep which resulted to an unresisted fall to the opponent.
Even though it does not restrict the kind of martial art competing but it is a standing type fight... Any grappling is allowed with the objective of bringing the opponent down...Once there is a takedown (successful or not) the game is reset before it resumes...
We want to create a platform for all martial art to compete with each other in a game that is very high on safety without compromising the impact and the range of technique from various styles... At the end of the day, it is still just a game nothing more than that...which is accessible by the masses that have conditioned themselves to a certain extent but not all the way into professional fights.
You may regard this as an entry level kind of tournament...
can do submission holds?
Sgforum King, I think you should come down on the 15th to participate in the seminar to really immerse yourself in the sparring concept...
You will understand better rather than trying to figure it out in writing or in theory because we are at the formation state still. Eastpaw can give you the insights because he came down and had a go at it...
You will find that we accommodate all views as long as it is within the objective of the tournament i.e. minimum risk, maximum impact and whole lot of fun...

Really hope you can make it and please bring all your friends as well... It is still F.O.C....
how many points for takedown?
Originally posted by Sgforum King:how many points for takedown?
Takedown is divided into 2 section...
1st section: Contender manage to bring the opponent down in an immobilized position unable to put up any stance (sitting on the buttocks, fall flat on the ground and all four points i.e. both hands and legs in a prone position on the ground)... 2 points to the contender
2nd section: After executing the takedown, the contender is still in a commanding stance (i.e. can still follow up with another attack). 1 point will be awarded to the contender.
Hence a successful takedown will receive the full 3 points...
