sanda style of fighting quite lame leh.. I went to watch to sanda tournament few months ago at toa payoh .All they do is bear hug+ sumo push.... But i watch in youtube and the standard is really different....

Sanda originally was not like this. It has changed much. Traditional sanda can be found in China, but those that got out of China probably evolved into something else.

I read some history about sanda, it seems that sanda is a copy of muay thai, after the chinese kung fu masters got beaten soundly in thailand in the famous martial arts challenge in the 1970s.
The name "sanda" is also something that the communist govt. came up with, the original name was san shou i think. But sanshou in the past looks nothing like what it is today, sanda today is a pure copy of muay thai adding some shuai jiao throws into it. I have watched training clips of the sanda team in china including liu hailong the best sanda fighter, and it looks like muay thai training.
The commie govt., because of nationalistic pride, must resort to copying without even attributing the source.
If you will watch the sanda matches on youtube, it is full of propoganda. Esp. when they fight against the thais. The commentators are saying all kinds of good things about their fighters and putting down the other fighters. When the sanda fighter loses, they will make lots of excuses (he hasn't been training, he just had a bout of sickness, etc. etc.). I just want to vomit when I hear some comments that they make. -
Sanda is based on chinese wrestling mixed with striking. Simple.

jk la.. Sanda is more effective than pure kickboxing, the throws are pretty effective against the Muay Thai clinge.
Its like mixing kickboxing and Judo.
But I still like Muay Thai. =D
