On Tuesday I had a bad fall and injured my right knee. There is a wound there now, quite a size I would say if comparing with my previous wounds from previous falls.
For now it seems to be better even though there is still some pain whenever I straighten or bend my leg.
I need the wound to heal itself as fast as possible. Any good remedies?

knee ligament sprained thats why cant bend or have control of it.had that when i fought with a buffalo a few months ago.what i did was straighten leg and try not to move it that much use gandalfs stick from lord of the rings or a rifle or a crutch to take the load off that injured leg for a month or so.it should go back to normal in 1.5 months or so.it helps alot.
it's better not to self medicate in such cases..
if the wound is not properly treated, it may get infected which may lead to other complications..

i have seen doctor before. being advised to do so (as in the medication)
Go to any watson/guardian, buy the antiseptic solution. It comes in small pack (pink solution). The cost of it, I can't remember, but I know it's less than $1 each pack. Perhaps you can get half a dozen to wash the wounds clean. After washing the wounds with the antiseptic solutions, dry it with cotton. You can put antiseptic cream (I like the cream from detol), followed by covering it with cotton pieces and mash.
50 cents per pack.

yes, best is wash it regularly. And keep it dry after washing.
When I say washing, I mean just drip the solution on the wound and around the wound, no need scrabbing. The purpose of the antiseptic solution is to kill bacteria around the wound and gentle clean the wound. Avoid touching the wound with fingers use cotton bud or soft cotton if necessarily.
If you want a speedy recover, get more fruits to boost your VitC level in the body. No need buy vitC tablets, an orange or citrus fruit a day is enough
get Opsite from the pharmacy - it's like a plastic sheen - to put over the wound so no water, bacteria, dirt etc goes into it.
thanks all for the help. hopefully the wound will recover fast before my field camp starts
you will reach a stage when the wound has already dried up and starting to form scab (I think you have already reach that stage already). Soon, you will feel super itchy because of some chemical your body generate. Do not peel of the skin as it will expose the wounds again (and you will need to go through the cycle of pain).
If you are itchy, just apply a thin layer of antiseptic cream again. Recovery will be faster if you have proper nutritions in your diet. A well balance mix of fruits, vegetable and protein from meat will help speed up the recovery process.

yeah, can say so, that the scab has been forming. but after applying antiseptic cream, it turns sticky again. looks like i will have to start eating oranges again -- haven't been eating it for a long time already.
for opsite dressing, it's named as tegaderm in ambulances..
don't put the standard handsaplast. It's not a good idea as it will trap moist inside the wound. I head that last year a company come out with a great wound protecting product, but I can't remember which company was that.

yes it will turn sticky i dislike it too. It's a good sign that you're body are still working and strong. Air it regularly if possible too!
wounds can be classified into 2 types..
mainly open or closed..
thanks guys for the responses and help. :)
