The $200+ is consider very cheap already Such tests takes up a lot of time for the medical technologist to perform. Not too sure about hospitals rates, but I believe it will be around the same or maybe slightly lesser but not significant.
I'm a not an expert, doctor or anything, I'm just a busy body.
I suspect you're having a case of enlarged prostate based on your profile and what you have writen above. I would recommend you going to your GP ask discuss with your doctor about enlarged prostate and seek his/her permission to start you on muscle relaxant like Flowmax or Uroxitral.
P.S. I also suspect your GP's age is between 35 - 50 years old.
P.P.S. Flowmax or Uroxitral cost much less than $200 and you will see noticeable results within 3 days. If you feel better after taking Flowmax or Uroxitral, then you should treat me a cup of Kopi.
P.P.P.S. You'll have to bear with the slight side effects
P.P.P.P.S. Keep us updated.
Best regards,

Yes, usually it happens to men above 50. Prostate glands usually have two stage of growth (i.e. one at teenage/early adolscent and another at older stage) as you might have researched already. The reason why prostate gland enlarge is unknown but generally due to hormones changes in the body.
I see that you have completed your NS and the suddenly change in hormone levels could results in the said experience, thus my deduction that you're more sensitive to the hormonal changes in the body.
Afterall, I am some busy body, and my deduction should not be taken so seriously. The doctors are right to order tests and prescribe antibiotics as per standard medical practice and guideline. But some times, they may tend to overlook smaller details due to out of norm cases.
I hope your conditions will improve and wish you good health in dragon years

An old lady went to the doctor for headache. Seen many doctors, and doctor prescribed paracetamol. The problems goes away temporarily and after a while the lady still suffer from headache. She sees another doctor, and the doctor thoughts she might be having an infection of the brain and thus started antibiotic. The antibiotic didn't work and the headache still persist. The doctors was puzzled too. She then went to see another doctor, this time a young chap. As usual, the lady told the doctor what happened, and the young promising doctor check her ears and notice ear infection. Viola, the headache was caused by ear infection. He prescribed drugs for the ear infection, and the lady's headache was gone.
