No chicken and seafood except fish after surgery?

  I just had a surgery to fix my ACL tear and meniscus tear, heard from my elders that chicken and seafood except fish are no go for me, making me eating fish soup almost every meal, everyday. I just want to know what's the rationale behind it or is there any scientific reason behind the change of eating?

  i think it has something to do with the healing of the wound right.

  yah... supposedly fish helps in repair and regeneration of cells...... something like tt......

  I understand about avoiding squid and prawns, but chicken? I never heard that it's poisonous or something.

  I think chicken has to do with the scars or something

  I only know surgery is can only eat fish & pork...

  after surgery good to eat those "sheng yu" soup... not raw fish but a type a fish...

  heard it aids the healing process...

  plus soy sauce i think. i remember my mom forbidding me from having chicken and anything cooked in soy sauce (especially the thick ones) when i was getting over my chicken pox.
