today read the ST life, on chow yun fatt interview. he said it is bad drinking cold water, as one's body temperature is 36 degree celsius, drinking cold water/drinks is not good for your body entrails. I ifnd what he said makes some sense, as he avoided drinking cold water/drinks.
anyone want to share some light on this?
So if you consume cold water, will the cold water stay cold indefinitely in your body?

no, your body temperature is 36, u got cold water entering your body, cold and warm combined? not good for your teeth also, one moment hot, one moment cold.
if one day there's an article tt says breathing is bad for you.
i hope u heed it right away
Chow yun fatt is an old man leh, if he say cold drinks/water is bad for his system, I will be inclined to believe him. However, I am not chow yun fatt, and I am nowhere near his age, and I take cold drinks/water in moderation., hence when it comes to health I have to make my own judgement.
As for your teeth, the sudden contraction and expansion of enamel is never encouraged. Thats why I sip cold drinks, not gulp them down like a monster.
I like cold water, shiok!
I have cold water in the fridge at all times. I use glass bottles with a clip on cap, so that the fridge odour will not taint the water.
Once in a while I will cough, then the missus will go say "see drink cold water lah". But the cough is not from the cold water, but by germs and viruses caught from the public transport system.

For me, I have only heard of eating hot foods and drinking hot drinks increases throat cancer
edit: "hot" as in temperature "hot", not chilli "hot"
ur cough is either your airway is sensitive or post nasal drip.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer! Can u believe this?? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
What is the specific temperature required to "solidify the oily stuff"?
What is the time required for the cold water to sustain the above required temperature to "solidify the oily stuff"?
What is the temperature of the cold water before entry to the mouth, in the mouth, and upon reaching the stomach? Is it the required temperature to "solidify the oily stuff"? How long can the cold water in the stomach maintain that temperature to "solidify the oily stuff"?
What is the specific definition of "the oily stuff"?

dunno. i didn't think of that too.
The cold water in the stomach don't act like the coldness in the fridge, which solidifies the oil on leftover food into grease.
Hot or Cold temperatures in the stomach will stabilise to body temperatures quite fast for digestion, especially when there are other food present in the stomach..
