Dental Retainers

  I have a friend, she went for dental for the braces thing so as to straighten her teeth. It is private de cos she doesnt know abt the govt de. Now the dentist explained about each session $100 plus for every month etc and she was prepared for it. Now suddenly, at the near end, the dentist said to extract 4 wisdom tooth and a retainer. She understands but the retainer costs $700. Any frens out here can help confirm if retainers rly costs $700 from private? Wisdom tooth $500/teeth but can pay by medisave, so is ok.

  Is $700 for retainers acceptable? Cos it seems a lil and she has problems explaining it to her parents =x

  Retainers only cost 150-300 in most clinics .. privately.. even by specialist. the clinic she goes to... dubious

  anyone else can confirm tat the retainers costs aga aga $300 instead of aga aga $700? I just need more confirmation. Thx

  I also suspect, $500 per extraction of wisdom tooth, is it reasonable? $150 per month to change the rubber thing also is it reasonable? we both feel $150/month for the rubber thing is acceptable, wisdom tooth not sure but the retainer we rly find it fishy

  I dunno wad u meant by 150 to change rubber thing And u dun have to get any confirmation for retainers. It a well known mkt rate out there, for plastic and metal
