Lately, I've been experiencing mild, throbbing headaches on a daily basis during late afternoon after a day's work. I do have ample amount of sleep >7 hrs, go for a stroll during night-time, and a balanced diet. I wondered if it's because I've been using my brain too much.
Has anyone experience something similar to this before? Is it normal or abnormal?
If you have it ever so frequently, it's best to see GP then get a referral for a specialist. It could mean anything from a migraine to something much worse.
sitting posture no good?
watever the cause may be, and watever us forumites might say , or watever u might find in google results, go see a doc.
i have similar symptoms like u time to time too! and when im at a VERY bright area (those with damn bright lightings) the headache comes too...

I've thought about this too. I hoped it isn't something serious like migraine. Darn, I am still in the prime of early youth...

You need a change - location or light bulb.
How about someone invent a device which can flash over the forehead and instant *headache recovery!*

Hi Alp,
Do you take breaks in between your work? Even if you have adequate sleep at night, it is still possible for you to overwork yourself due to a lack of resting periods within your working hours.
Cheers.

Staring too much at the computer screen.

For your work, do you work a lot with computers? If yes, you need to take a break in between. After one year of torturing my eyes, I begin to experience symptoms like yours.
See doc - doc says need to rest the eyes more often. It's getting strained, thus the headaches.
See optician - optician says eyesight is stable, but like what doc says, is getting strained. Need to rest.
Anyway, if it continues despite resting it, better to see a doc and your optician.

10 mins? I wonder if that's sufficient; that's what I do normally when i need a refresher. Plus, I do self-study every night, and I just returned from the library...to do a little crapping in sgforums...

I am a rather healthy 20+ young man...no signs of internal/external damage... except perhaps the only thick glasses sitting on my nose representing my myopia...
Need to check you eyes again to see if you need a new pair of thicker glasses

Hi Alp,
I certainly hope that you did not give yourself only a single 10 minutes break when you are working. While resting, you should try looking at distanced green trees or grass if possible.
Cheers.

why is that?
What you described sounds like tension headache. Tension headache can be relieved with the help of muscle relaxant medication(s) from your Doc. Probably due to stress? Better to get it treated asap as it might lead to migraine.

Haha...
Yeah... with more usage of computers, our eyesight will definitely go downhill. Rest it well. Cannot afford every half hour break, make it every hour or after you finish a task...

what about people doing programming or doing data entry, seeing the screen all day long? plus not to mention come home watch tv, dvd, vcd, movies or surfing the web, or even playing comp games?

Programming - finish one module then rest. Cannot afford to have attention dispersed...
Data entry - finish one file and rest...
Well, that's how I handle it.

Does it really work? I mean I read it before somewhere in health promotion board on this info, and after trying it out on the plastic white roses placed on my desk, I do feel a bit more relax...
Actually, how long do you take a break when studying?
better go see doctor.
there were reports about this woman working for too long hours, and she suffers from headache, but she never go see doctor.. then bye bye already...
Yes and by looking at things that are far away and especially green in colours, it helps to relaxed your eyes more than looking at anything else.
go read up on google lar. there must be an explanation for it, just that we dunno.
