Went to the Doctor, No Meds

Hello all..just want to rant out my feelings..I just came back from the doctor, had a fever running @ 38.4, a little uneasy feeling @ my throat and my body is aching. But he insisted that I can take nornal panadol and thus didn't give any medications. :s
Even the triage nurse @ the counter was taken aback with the 'no medication' needed. Being a kind soul, she dispensed some paracetomol 500mg (Panamol) to me. Haha..this is the first time ever, I visited the doctor and he did not prescribe any form of meds to me..lol
Have a throbbing headache now, gona catch some rest andI hope I can get better soon..

Did you take note of the name of the doctor? Do you know his MCR No? Take note and call up Singapore Medical Association to find out if this sort of treatment given to patient is appropriate.
This dr is so unprofessional. If I am you, I would tell the doctor that if i need panadol I will not have to go to him for help.

no harm done if you don't need medication, the gp i go to would ask if i have generic drugs that he might otherwise prescribe....buy them from pharmacy, it can save you quite a bit....

think you are unreasonable ok. no caring and responsible doctor will just say that no medicine, they will at least prescribe some medicine. don't come tell me about drs, i have doctors friends. about such a case, the doctor would normally prescribe medicine.

why didnt you ask him for medication if he did not prescribed any for you? which clinic is it? call back the clinic and ask for med.

I'm not defending the doctor. I'm defending common sense.
If the TS is genuinely worried he can always go to seek a second opinion, or buy paracetomol which he did.

not necessary. Some clinics you can see there are no people espically when it is runned by a lousy doctor so the doctor is very free can come sgforum to register a nick call Pitot and post msgs

Does it even matter? It isnt even related to this thread.
Panadol is the brand name for paracetomol. The doctor already said he could get normal panadol outside or even at home if he already has. This would save him money.
If he was really worried he could suggest for the doctor to prescibe for him,or buy it. Which he did.
Got no time to play with people who hide behind multiple nicks on an online forum.
