The Health Sciences Authority has issued an alert againt a product sold as a “dietary supplement” over the Internet.
The product is marketed as ‘Relacore.’
HSA says it has received two cases of serious adverse reactions traced to the product.
It’s establishing if what's consumed by the two patients could be a counterfeit version of the product ‘Relacore’.
The patients, who have already been discharged from the hospital, were two young adults in their early 20s.
The reactions suffered by the them included symptoms of psychosis such as hearing of voices, hallucinations, anxiety and increased heart rate.
HSA says the product has been found to adulterated with Sibutramine, a prescription drug used an apetitite suppresant.
It says Sibutramine should only be used under proper medical supervision because it can cause severe adverse reactions.
These include symptoms of psychosis, hallucinations, confusion, anxiety, increases in blood pressure and heart rate.
Patients with heart problems, in particular should not take the product.
HSA has alerted its international network of enforcement counterparts to be on a lookout for the adulterated product and where appropriate, to act against websites selling this product within their respective jurisdictions.
It advises consumers who have been taking this particular product to stop taking it immediately and to discard it.
If they experience any adverse reactions or feel unwell, they should consult their doctors immediately. - 938Live

Honestly, I've no sympathy for those that suffer side effect after taking those pills. They want an easy way out and this is what you get for being lazy not wanting to really work it out. Serve them right!
