im 20 yr old this yr
currently serving ns, and i realised a little patch behind my head is thinning alot after a few barbers highlighted them to me. i also have this impression that my hair is thinning as a whole.
one of the barber told me my problem shld be caused by oily scalp.
they call it 'you2 xing4 tuo4 fa3'.
i would like to ask, whether such a problem is serious enough for me to see a gp? i'm asking this because i tot gp deals more with illness..
another thing is what can i do to improve the situation?
i do not want to visit those commercial hair centre, because i'm currently serving ns, and i was a student before that. so i have no financial means to support the decision.
i don't really dare to try side remedies, however i really hope for some useful methods or products i can use..
thanks alot.
Your problem looks hereditary. Does your father or mother have baldness? I would suggest you live with the fact that you are getting a bald spot. With your current budget, the cheapest solution is to get a toupe. The more expensive solution would be hair transplant.
Oh, I just remembered. A few years back I tried taking this pill called 'Propecia'. It works as long as you are taking it regularly. The moment you stop taking it, your hair growth slows down again. The downside is that there are many side effects. Go consult your doctor on this. Propecia's claim to fame is maintenance. 83% of men studied were able to maintain their original hair count, and 64% experienced regrowth after 2 years. Propecia does this by inhibiting the creation of DHT in your system. If you are trying to regrow large amounts of lost hair, you should consider a combination regimen of Propecia and Minoxidil for best results.
Yes, it can be hereditary. The main reason are the hormones, male sex hormones (androgens). Your case looks like hair loss which the men suffer becasue of hormones. It can start in such young age. There is no cheap way to prevent it. There are pills - Propecia, but they cost something and causes
loss of sexual desire. See the Hair Issues thread, it deals with such problem.
Propecia, nice mane and no sex, or bald but potent.
