Yes... the brain will be lack of oxygen and this is called cerebral hypoxia... it is one of the important complications and the patient will become unconscious (hence the resuscitation)...Originally posted by alfagal:so..if e heart fails to pump blood, then e brain will lack of oxygen right?
Nephritis is a condition... may I know... if you have the full diagnosis? It would save some time for me to explain to you...Originally posted by Master -_-:My grandmother died of Nephritis which is inflammation of the kidney.
It has the effect of damaging and closing up the microscopic filters in the kidney. This means that in addition to various toxic waste products, the inflamed kidney filters out important proteins (larger molecules) from the blood. Therefore the characteristic symptom of nephritis is proteinuria which means the excessive removal of protein from the blood and its excretion in urine.
Will there be repercussions if treated regularly? And how come it is incurable?
Ish... can't you be patient?Originally posted by Master -_-:my question left unanswered...

I have to answer 3 other related medical problems... so your replies slow a bit lar... sorry yar...
Yes, there is a condition of the leg vessels getting clogged up... this is referred to as Deep Vein Thrombosis, and one of it's complication which is death is Pulmonary Embolism whereby part of the clot in the leg veins break apart and makes its way to the blood vessels of the lungs, and if it is big enough, it blocks the T-junction (pulmonary arteries - recall anatomy) and stops all blood to the lungs and heart... this will cause an immediate death...Originally posted by gorby107:Ok thanks a lot guys
How about the leg ??
If get clog and not treated immediately

Is the diabetes included?Originally posted by renorenal:Yes, there is a condition of the leg vessels getting clogged up... this is referred to as Deep Vein Thrombosis, and one of it's complication which is death is Pulmonary Embolism whereby part of the clot in the leg veins break apart and makes its way to the blood vessels of the lungs, and if it is big enough, it blocks the T-junction (pulmonary arteries - recall anatomy) and stops all blood to the lungs and heart... this will cause an immediate death...
The best way is to PREVENT it by identifying risk factors... such as...
1) Obesity
2) Smokers
3) Pregnant ladies
4) Pelvic tumors
5) Varicose Veins
6) Hypercholesterolemia / Hyperlipidemia
7) Old age
Patient confined to bed
9) Post operative patients
Treatment once it has developed is first by identifying the clot through a Doppler Ultrasound which shows the blood flow capacity in the leg vessels.
Once recognized, we can either treat the patient with an anti-coagulant such as heparin or warfarin. We may also decide on surgery if the clot is huge enough and this is called embolectomy...
There's also a surgery for those that grossly overweight who can't shed weight despite medications, balanced diet and exercising?Originally posted by renorenal:Errr... it's my suggestion that you should do without medications...
Xenical = Orlistat is only used preferably for patients like I told you last time in PM, who are grossly obese...
Still, it is vital to keep to a controlled diet and exercise 3 times a week, 30-45 minutes per session...
Running and jogging are the best exercise which burns quite a substantial amount of calories accumulated over the past few days...
Keeping carbo low means you have to reduce the amount of rice you eat, the sugary drinks or gassy drinks, chocolates, sweets and hmmm... there are more of which I believe you would know
Keep a healthy balanced diet... you can refer to alex for this advise... I believe he will be able to calculate the right amount of calories for you, intake, output and balance per se...
It is possible... but not a major risk, unless combined with others factors...Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Is the diabetes included?
Yes... there is a surgery to remove the short intestines to disable food absorption into the body, hence the food will travel from the stomach into the large bowels to be excreted with minimial absorption.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:There's also a surgery for those that grossly overweight who can't shed weight despite medications, balanced diet and exercising?
