It can be also infectious, viral. Keep the diet and drink mineral water. The body loses minerals and water with each "run".Originally posted by browniebaobao:still having the run..

Just stay away from the patients.Originally posted by Devil1976:VERY NICE PLACE.

The hospital would not let her go home if they think she has leukaemia. Apart from the total white cell count, which as reno says, should be between 4000 to 11,000/ml, the differential count is also important. In other words, which type of white cells is elevated. An acute infection such as tonsillitis etc, will raise the number of neutrophils. If it is the eosinophils that is predominantly raised, one might think of a parasitic or allergic condition, etc..Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:She wasn't sick when she had this checked.
She is at home resting now...
She doesn't have most of the symptoms describe here though. Just got worried when she tells me the white blood cell count.
Guess you are reading the comments on a chest X-ray report. Aortic unfolding and calcification is often seen with aging...thinkdifferent has dealt with that already. It is quite common and nothing needs or can be done about it in most cases. Scoliosis is quite common in the Asian population, particularly among girls. Mild scoliosis will not give rise to any problems in most instances...nothing to qorry about. Pleural thickening may indicate previous infection that has resolved. If it is mild, it won't affect lung function much as there is a good deal of reserves in our respiratory function.Originally posted by ceecookie:hey doc may i know what is:

Hmm....not enough information to guess what disease you are referring to...There are indeed a number of so-called hospital acquired infections that patients who are already ill tend to pick up in the hospitals. These are mostly bacterial infections that are resistant to common antibiotics...you may have heard the media hype about MRSA (methicillin resistant Staph. aureus) in UK hospitals. However, sneezing is not quite right as a symptom...I might have expected coughing or fever instead.Originally posted by subarugal:Reno

i can't describe my headache. it happens when i don't know. it likes to come when it likes to come but don't go till i take a panadol or sleep n wakes up in the morning.( sleep at nignt)Originally posted by thinkdifferent:For nth = for nothing, right?
Can you please describe your headaches? When do you usually get them, how often, which part of your head, how long do they take, do you take some painkillers, how strong are they, do you have any other symptoms during the headaches (nausea, blurred sigh)?
Some headaches are still a "mystery" , we can explain some kinds of headaches, but there are also headaches for which the explanation seems to be difficult.
Please, answer my questions and write your own comments too, let's see what we can figure out from your description.

The white blood cells have dropped, but I don't know how much. I think it has gone back to normal levels, and she is feeling fine.Originally posted by oxford mushroom:The hospital would not let her go home if they think she has leukaemia. The white cell count should return to normal after her recent illness...if it remains elevated at 21,000 then yes, it should be investigated to make sure there is no underlying cause.
It's hard to solve your headaches when you can't give me more details.Originally posted by ahce911991:i can't describe my headache. it happens when i don't know. it likes to come when it likes to come but don't go till i take a panadol or sleep n wakes up in the morning.( sleep at nignt)
