hey.. who is watching The Conqueror's Story ³þººË«�Û on channel 55 at 9-945pm? The story seems to protray Liu Bang as a good man... well historically he is supposed to be the bad guy...

Great Conqueror's Concubine, The
Directed by Stephen Shin.
This movie is so long it was released as two seperate movies in some markets. It is the end of the Qin Dynasty, the Han are rising ascendant, and Gong Li is there.
The Great Conqueror's Concubine begins with the decline and fall of the Qin Dynasty and ends with the establishment of the Han. In between, rival generals battle for control of the empire, sworn brothers become enemies, and in the end, only one can be king.
This movie is epic in every sense of the word. Gigantic battle scenes, sweeping spectacle, incredible sets, and some of the best actors from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong together make the film so epic in fact that it was released in some markets as two seperate films, The Great Conqueror's Concubine Part 1 and Part 2. Despite all the trappings that make one expect a slow, plodding, mainland production, director Stephen Shin is able to inject the action and pace of a Hong Kong movie into the works, making the story long, but never dull.

Xi Chu Ba Wang! I still remember clearly when the last sence when Xiang Yu was left all alone to fight Liu Bang's army... Not a single soldier dare to went near him.. in the end they shot arrows and killed him..

History protray liu bang as of mediocre talent, but the most impt thing abt him is that he know how to keep his men and used them correctly...
that brought him to victory..
As for Xiang Yu, he was a great warrior and born with leadership talents. But, success comes to him to easily. That made him arrogant and his trusted officers left him one by one..

hmm liu bang and xiang yu were sworn brothers at first.. but seems that their characters are direct opposites of each other? liu bang is very kind and benevolent, but xiang yu is cruel and brutal.. maybe tats why zhang liang and the 'second father' said liu bang is the fated mandate of heaven hehe

Remember when xiang yu captured liu bang, he let him off becos he still regarded liu bang as his sworn brother..
xiang yu.. was not cruel. he was arrogant becos success came to him too easily.. that was why all his officals left him in the end.. -

Question is why does Maggie Cheung insisted on marrying Adam Cheng? And when Maggie was first introduced to Kong Wah, how come their exchanged looks, like gwai gwai de. Like they already know each other like that. -

Is this really an adapation from history?
Last night's episode was Adam Cheng's character killing the white snake and it made him a what? War Lord? Maggie's character is pretty suspicious. I got a feeling she's not what she appears to be.
Anyways, Kong Wah's performance is really good! He is really suited for this type of role! -

Kinda sad at the end of the show tho
You must know that this war is not just five years of Chu-Han contention, but a real end to the hundreds of years of war starting from Spring and Autumn Period
plus Liu Bei forced to renege on his promise and kill his sworn brother, and all his other tribulations in setting up the empire

China produced serials usually depict the history accurately, even right down to the props or the women's dressing
HK, altho on reduced scale, is now trying to do this...for example, the red colour pattern that is prominently used during the time is beign featured in this show, like the patern of the wall behind the King of Han, King of Chu and KIng of Qi -
Orh.......so really history lah. Hmm....okay lah. It's on my 9pm slot so maybe I can catch it some time lah.
But I find the other woman in Adam's life very irritating leh.
