Since all of us have the chance to be a parent one day, what do you think will be the best way to bring up your children?
Especially when they are in their teens?
The strict way of the stick? The lenient way of the words?
How else? I know that most of you will not think of this now as all are still young, single and available.

It is essential to be both strict and lenient to bring up a child. Which way is more effective and when to be strict and when to be lenient to them? I think it depends on the children's character and how old the children are. For some little kids, lenient words to them are useless. Holding a stick on your hand will be more effective. If nice words can work, who want to turn into angry with their children? Right?
But when the children are in their teens, parents should not cane them, it will hurt them and affect the parent-children relationship. Lenient words are preferable and acceptable to the teens. and the teens are more able to accept to the advice from parents.
But i have to say that strictness is not easy to practice to kids nowadays. When the parents scold or cane their children when they did something wrong, simply, the children will choose cry and cry to melt their parents' heart, even normal punishment already seems too harsh for them. Finally parents usually give in. I think that the kids are really spoiled, and most parents don't want to be strict to them. maybe caning is not as useful as in our childhood.
For myself, there is a rule to bring up children if I have any one day, firstly, lenient words, if it doesn't work, cane them without any choices, then nice words to them again lor. -
