Hi people... I'm planning to study overseas full time in Australia because it's really difficult for me to get a seat in local university (have been trying for three years).. I'm actually looking into civil engineering degree course.. I've seen a few of them online.. however I'm still pondering which school should I enrol myself to...taking the study environment, course fees, living expenses etc... I sincerely hope that whoever reads my post could give me some advice on these...
For now, I've been looking into two universities- curtin and University of western Australia. . One of the main reasons is that I heard that the living expenses is not as high compared to Sydney n Melbourne. .
hi,
if cost is a concern , i think the uni of adelaide is the cheapest among all the group of 8 ,housing in adelaide is one of the cheapest among the state capitals and its a GO8 university.I personally have decided to go to canada to study, its cheaper.

groupd of eight something like the ivy league of australia , the top 8 research intensitve universities, subsqeuently the top 8 ranking uni of australia,
If cost is really a problem, UTAS , u may consider, uni of tasmania, its in hobart, definately cheaper than living on mainlain australia....
Cool.. Thanks for your advice.
However, other than cost, taking up an degree that is recognized in PE board Singapore is very important too. Therefore, I'm limiting myself in chosing from the list of Australia's universities below:
University of Adelaide
Curtin University of Technology
James Cook University of North Queensland
University of Melbourne
University of New South Wales
Monash University (Clayton Campus)
University of Newcastle
University of Queensland
Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology
University of Sydney
University of South Australia
University of Western Australia
University of Wollongong
The bold Universities are those that I've looked into. Still pondering though.. =/ Hoping to get more advices from people out there..

This is from someone living in Melbourne.
I can tell you Perth is a very very expensive place to live right now due to the mining sector inflating costs of living there. If I am not wrong Perth is the now taken or at least close to over take Sydney as the most expensive city.
Adelaide and Horbat is a good place if you want to concentrate on your studies with minimal distractions. Hope this helps.
