We had another whopper of a storm move through the Twin Cities early this morning. Torrential rains and straight-line winds in excess of 70 mph were reported. I woke up to the distant rumbling of thunder at around 2 a.m. just as a very impressive and continuous lightning show was underway.
Then the stormfront passed through and we lost power.
When I left for work later that morning, power still had not been restored (just read on the news that over 43,000 households are without power this morning). Today is garbage collection day, so most homeowners had rolled their dumpsters out on the driveways the previous evening. Almost all of them had been blown over and garbage was strewn all over the place, together with assorted pieces of lawn furniture and broken tree branches.
I know we need the rain bad, but not
this bad!
