Opinion about seats in food court

I'm sure you have encountered people standing right next to you and staring at you eating your food while you eat, hoping to pressurise you into finishing the food so that you may vacate the seats.
What are your thoughts on this? Normal or rude?

i dun care about this. Later can go buy watermelon and sit on the table, and they will go away

i will feel damn uncomfortable.
thats why i wont eat at very crowded eateries.

this happens all the time, especially in HK. In crowded places, especially during lunch time, I can understand.
If the people already bought their food and are waiting with their food in their hands, I will try to finish mine and let them have my seat.
If they are just waiting, then chop the seat with tissues or umbrella, then I will just let them wait loh. If I don't like their faces, especially some women who continue to yalk standing next to me, I will stand up, buy a drink, then later buy a watermelon, ....

Reason for this thread because it happened to me twice in 2 days. They just stood right at the side of the table, arms folded and looked at us. Both times I looked at them and they looked away, pretending everything's normal.
The second incident, my wife told me they're Indonesians but I'm very sure they're Singaporeans. Confirmed when they sat down and spoke their mixture of Singlish and Malay. Foreign tourists who are affluent enough to come to Singapore are unlikely to behave this way.

It is obvious they are waiting for you, when they notice you are finishing your meal.
I am a fast eater, sometimes I am devilishly slow.
You should get what I mean.

if they rude and pushy, i will make them tan kuku

yup, encountered before & I don't like to be rushed when I'm eating..
but of coz I won't take my own sweet time to finish lah..

Just wondering if I shd f the next victim, I mean the next chap who does that but if it happens so often, then waste my effort for what? lol. How long has it been like that? Few years back, they would just glance and wait subtlely nearby. Now it's right in your face.

cannot afford restoransso they go fc to eat (the food in fc not relli tt cheap anyway)
the place is oni this bigthere is oni this lumber of tables and seats
everybardie eat lunch/dinner around the same time (so next time u can try go during offpeak hrs loh)
sometimes i would just quickly eat and go off bcos too crowded and stuffy

haha, you must be one of those who stand and stare right lol. Not a matter of can afford or not la imo....I'm sure those who eat in fc can also afford the restaurant. Spending power's another matter. Just the manners. Oh well, I'm nobody to take the moral high ground anyway. Just wondering if sg has changed....the difference is starkly contrasting when you come home after some time away.

If it is crowded and during peak hours, i will not delay vacating my seats for others.

Yes. Say it in a polite way , generally people will accept it.
