Why are we paying more for poor bus services?
I recently boarded a bus going for a meeting. I press the bell to stop but the bus driver did not stop even on the next 2 stops. It was raining heavily and I had no umbrella and had to walk back 2 stops away from my destination.
I called to give feedback to the SBS Transit hotline but the guy who took my complaint did not revert. I had to call several times to ask for compensation. With the irresponsible bus driver and the poor service lapse of the customer service, the VP wanted to give me $50 as compensation. I asked for $100 because I was drenched in the rain and the embarrassment I faced meeting the people with full clothes wet.
Shouldn't SBS Transit compensate more? $50 for distress and inconvenience caused? What does the rest of you think? I would suggest that if the bus drivers are not doing their jobs, we should be compensated. Afterall we are the ones who pay more for poor services. Would you pay 10% service charge if the service is lousy?
You are just the lesser mortal. When I wrote to SBS to complain about the company's laziness to improve its service by ... In my letter, I always play courtesy by opening with a positive praise for being 'able to wake up and do some work' and followed by my regrets of a certain ... Guess what ! The PR or reply was "happy to know you like our service" full stop !
If you get lazy people to work, they can give you 101 reasons why they should not work at all for your sake. Did PAP members work ? Don't be ridiculous ! Just look at your SMS junk mails ! Isn't that clear enough ?
When you pressed the bell for the coming stop, did you bother to hear if it went off? If it didn't don't blame the driver, you could go up to him and tell him you wish to alight at coming stop.
If you don't have any self initiative, don't expect any served to you.
You expect $100 for failing to tell the driver you want to stop?

I cant believe that after pressing the bell and the bus did not stop, he just stand there for two bus stops doing nothing? If for me, i will just keep pressing the bell non-stop.... high chance that he fall asleep on the bus and miss his stop....
$50 sounds like quite a good outcome to me actually. I'd expect a 'sorry..too bad' kind of reaction, which might be okay if it was an error.
i am surprised they are willing to offer you $50.
thats not bad at all.
smrt offered only 5000 for 2 legs.
TS should pay me $500 for wasting my productive time reading this and another $700 for actually replying.
Really.
