I went to a hawker centre in Marine Parade this week and ordered a plate of wanton mee at a wanton mee a stall. However, the hawker didnt even acknowledge it and he totally ignored me and continued cooking. Then, another woman came along and he asked the woman what she wanted to eat. Upon seeing that, I got so irritated that I went to buy from another stall. After a while, the hawker came over to me and asked if I still wanted my order. I was quite shocked as I thought that he didnt hear it. Then, he went on to scold me and as he walked away, he kept staring back at me. Irritating!! :(((((((

It happened to me before. I placed my order loud enough the assistant simply could not be bothered to acknowledge he kept looking down. I went to collect my order they treated that I did not order and the assistant asked the cook to prepare my order and I have to wait . I simply walked away went home. Some hawkers are arrogant just becos they have good business. I am for teaching them a lesson to make them learn.

Got a ahma very old still wanna sell sugarcane juice.
Her hearing not so good cannot hear my orders. Still wanna sell sugar cane juice.
The law does not state cannot hear properly cannot sell sugar cane. so long she provides good service why care.
you should have ignored the hawker when he came to confirm your order. then just tell him '我是以其人之还其人之身' if and when he start nagging about your attitude.
You order, he doesnt wanna acknowledge....go another stall lor. No point quarrelling.
I've ever asked for more chilli sauce packets from a western food hawker....the auntie scolded me for asking. Nah bei........I never patronised that stall again.
There was another hawker which served me $3 hokkien mee instead of the usual $2.50. Lan lan I paid.
A lot of farked up hawkers around but no point raising your bp over this. Just boycott. Hit them where it hurts...the pocket.
Once I told the chai tao kuay stall assistant that I wanted the chai tao kuay to be more crispy, she made a scene and scolded me in the presence of many people. I gave her no chance I scolded her back. I was polite when I made my request.
Probably the agressiveness has taken a central stage instead of modesty. Hope that it will not give rise to a "secret society" of learned people. Be magnanimous. May all people be well and happy.
