Should I pay my fine?

We refer to your appeal on the parking notice. The notice was issued on 17 Jul 2010 at 9:09pm when your vehicle was found parking at unauthorised place at Multi-Storey Car Park (MSCP) ***, Blk **** *****************
2 Motorists including season parking holders are required to park their vehicles in designated parking lots at all times, even if the lots available are situated at the upper decks of the MSCP. Vehicles found parked in unauthorised places are infringement under the Parking Places Rules.
3 For your information, earlier on, 6 motorcycle lots were converted to car wash bay. Thereafter, another 6 motocycle lots were replaced (2 lots at the same deck and another 4 lots at the upeer decks). Therefore, there is no shortage of the motocycle lots in this car park.
4 We have looked into your appeal. However, it is unsuccessful. Please pay the parking fine by 21 Aug 2010 at any HDB Branch Office or our Payment Office, Atrium 3rd Storey, HDB Hub, 480 Toa Payoh Lorong 6, Singapore 310480. Alternatively, payment can also be made through the Internet, Singpost or the Self-Service Kiosks, AXS/SAM machines.

background story :
8 lots were removed to make 2 car wash bays
2 lots were intially given back
4 lots only appeared way way way after the renovation was done
so that means, they took away 8 and gave back 6.
I am a season parking ticket holder and there are many times where i do not have any lots to park, so i park next to the full lots.
so i am parking illegally, in my own MSCP and i get fined for it.

The fella even had the cheek to state that 6 lots were removed when 8 was the actual number.
why do i pay season parking for? so that i can get fined if there are no more lots?

Write to the papers and kpkb enough it should go away unless it's some money sucking machine like the ERP gantry

i wrote a reply to mr Geoffrey tan to tell him to get his facts right and come and see with his own eyes (if he even wants to) and if he stands by his claim that only 6 lots were removed, then good luck to him... I will prepare an official complaint to HDB
and i also wrote to ST forums, not sure if it will get printed. LOL

Normally first appeal fail, second and so on appeal again will still fail. I think just pay first? Then see will they summon you again?
No use complaing to HDB, in the end, you still lose UNLESS you have sufficient documents to proof that you are correct. -

i pay first then what's there to argue about?
i invited the fella to come to the carpark to show me where are the 6 lots that disappeared, and i will show him the 8 lots that are in fact missing.

i am not parking at that MSCP in the report but yep, i guess i can answer that now... i have to pay for it, that's what HDB says.

btw, i have also been fined for not showing my season parking coupon.
when its actually on my vehicle for the past 2+ years.
but that "offence" has been waived.

i can pay no problem but i won't pay if i think that its not my damn fault!
because if i pay, it won't solve the shortage problem and other fellas will just continue to kena fined for lack of lots.
then HDB pocket all this free money
i pay season parking for what? somemore i have paid all the way to jan 2011!

I used to be a public servant and my job involves collecting fines from the public.
I have heard of many cases similar to yours, of season parking holder getting fined..
There are a couple of guys who didn't want to pay the $25 fine. They received many lawyer letters and in the end they paid $125 consisting of $25 fine and $100 legal fee..

its okay $125 is still affordable
there has to be a way to show how retarded the situation is

If the newspaper do not want to publish your case, you can go post it at stomp with a scanned picture of the fine and season parking that you have bought as evidence.
Alternatively, can go speaker corner and highlight your case..This will make those facing similar case as yours come together and it will create awareness in singapore..

go find your MP. My friend parked at this handicapped lot overnight....well it's his fault but he appealed to the MP and got the fine waived. Reason being first offence.

yeah... you should meet your MP asap... (w/o) even pay for fine 1st... just like traffic "offences"... once they decide to assist in your case... then fine will be KIV.

I am very pissed off the hear this kind of crap even I am not the one who get fine... I like to ask them what should we do in the case where there is not car park?They should be lenient since u have the season car park. This is totally crazy man!!

it's best to pay the fine...if you don't pay, you'll have to pay a higher fine..you have to pay eventually...
