let's see.. in places like China, hand-pollenation of the pear flowers are expensive work...
they are forced to do it since they wiped out the insect population there with their pesticides and pollution

i buy brown pears, yellow pears and oranges regularly at shop and save.
the prices keep going up.

bcos of the erractic climate all over the world, harvest is bad..... low supply..... so price go up.....

you must peel off the skin of brown pears to enjoy it.the skin is too thick.

Well you could choose another type of fruit when one of those you listed goes up. Seasonal fruits are much cheaper (and fresher) than off season ones.

I think you can go over to JB for cheap durians.
Somebody should organise a durian feast across the Causeway over the weekend or something.

Saw the ads on those durian tours... I went once and it was fruitful experience.
