That afternoon hor... Open door for 2 ladies... (I don't know them one..) Never say 'thank you' never mind.... Stand at the door there and chatting away... (while I holding the door open for them so that it would not smack on their face....) Am I invisible one or they thought the door got sensor....?
They are too engrossed in their talking and didn't notice your presence. Manners are lacking everywhere nowadays.
You really are one funny guy.
Eh you also cannot stand there keep quiet also, must make eye contact and give gesture. hahaha...

I kinda don't like people who never take note of their surrounding... ever have people who are too engrossed in talking while walking that they didn't realize your presence until they are 1 nose distance from you or langgar you in the back... I have...

perhaps some girls just take it for granted that guys are always there to serve them?
feel free to close the door. now I don't bother to wait for people to get on the lift or hold lift doors. people get in like you are the lift operator
next time just close the damn door...let the door smack their face....hehe....so brutal hor....
need to inculcate some manners in them....
u happened to be wearing red suit??
I have a colleague who opened the door for us to pass through, instead the uncivilized 20plus year old women think they very important, and waltz through the door, ignoring my colleague and the whole lot of us had to stand one side the let all of them pass. None turn around to offer an acknowledgement. The girls even look at the bunch of us like we owe them a living - in their early 20s and with this kind of attitudes. I had to apologise to my colleague for the ill-mannered women in this country.
do you all know that the common gripe people who had been to the west is that Singapore is a country where there is abolutely no manners at all. My colleague is from a developing country and he has more grace and manners than the young people of this country every will develop in their lifetime. Seriously, I rather that Singaporean die out as a race, I feel disgraceful to be labelled a Singaporean. It is not a wonder why my Ang moh management has a very strong direction not to hire too many Singaporean. Singaporean in my office is a minority cause they are the most difficult group to work with and with the most complains, extremely inflexible and has so many unbendable rules.
And I am also thinking to avoid hiring locals because I know local people are not very competent, make a lot of noise, always think they are management material, and does not know how to be a good colleague/employee. The last time I had talked to a guy in his late 20s, his entitlement attitude was astounding and so demanding. His work ability is near zero, reliability/responsibility/ability were all lacking to the extend that I rather hire 2 bangala and properly train them, and they will propably do a better job. Its well known to MNCs nowadays that they realised that local people are not that competent and cannot work. Most can lie about their ability, flib about qualifications, make up grand stories about their past achievements but actually when asked to work - its almost as difficult as curing cancer. For my next hire, I will admit that I have to conciously avoid locals.

it is true. to a certain extent. some people just had to take it for granted. its like saying when you were young, your parents buy food for you, wash your clothes, send you to school. do you even say a word of thanks in return
maybe it's ur face
when they see ur face, they decide tt this face does not deserve any thank u
and when u do things for ppl, do willingly
do not expect thanks

Actually, I wasn't expecting a 'thank you'.... The least they can do is not to make me hold the door for them down there for minutes while they just carry on with their conversation, standing right between the doors...
"excuse me..."
