Had my home renovated.
Exceeded deadline by more than a month and ended up with shoddy work, poor workmanship, stupid planning and implementation without approval from owner, one stolen 32" LCD tv, one stolen island tap, one stolen shower mixer tap, some missing shelving, and incompletion!!!!
Beware of this company:
WHITE H*USE DECOR PTE LTD
Folks who need to see pictures can PM me.
You never confront the company?
Hmm, maybe u can try complaining to CASE, and see what they can do for u ???
HI all,
thanks for all the concerns and feedbacks...
Yes, it got them to pay, in full, the price i paid for the tv without depreciation. The contractor also paid for the lost taps and discounted for incomplete jobs. I held on the remaining payment so I had a little collateral....
However, I think I am losing out cos now i have to live with the crap quality of work they left behind. I am a handy person so I can fix some of the cracks with silicon paste and all but that's beside the point. I paid for a service and if they partake, they should live up to it, and not try to cut corners here and there.
I'll ready some pictures soon as I'm busy with the house right now...spring cleaning at 120km/hr.
General tips for all:
1. Get a detailed listing of the work you need. Detailed mean you can see and visualize every components, construction methods etc...
2. Request for a breakdown in payment. But dun be deceived here. Crap contractors are seasoned dicks too. They will put in things like:
- 5% down payment
- 30% upon hacking/ dismantling
- 30% upon completion of electrical works
- 20% painting
- 15% remaining touch up
You realize that all the workmanship issues like carpentry, flooring, polishing, plumbing, etc...are not included at ALL!
OWNERS MUST BE VIGILANT AND MORE DETAILED THAN CONTRACTORS!
To be fair to contractors out there, owners should not be fickle minded and give detailed instructions. If you expect them to think and watch out for you, they cannot be cheap. If they are cheap, they cannot be good. If they are cheap and good, TELL US WHERE TO FIND!
i got a rather bad experience as well..
the budget overshot by 20k...i refuse to pay up cos the contractor never did he work properly...someparts of the house will have water sipping in during rainy days...
and many other faults as well...
so what happened was he even got a loanshark to come knocking on my door...
then i negotiated to pay only 5k to resolve the issue..
but i paid that sum of money unwillingly
