why issit that when ministers or some big ppl come go to schs as GOH, the sch have to come out with all the expensive deco to impress them?
my sch going to have a rather big sch event, got some minister coming.
the pricipal used to say that there was not enough money, then all of a sudden, there was 2 LCD TVs in the canteen.
today as i walked round the sch, i realised that there was alot of renovations going on, things that were spoilt long time ago, the sch suddenly have the urge to fix it after we have all learnt to live with it.
the 2 LCDs is useless as the canteen already has 2 tv sets broadcasting the same thing.
this is not only happening in my sch. alot of other schs also spend quite alot preparing for the arrival of an important person.
the thing is, i feel that the money for such "deco" could have been better spent elsewhere enriching its students life, etc.
ain't this what schs are all about? -

MINDEF every year also will tell you they are saving money doing this and that, just ask them how many DnDs, and gala nights they hold every year, and where. -

its a vicious cycle. they wan to impress so they can get more attention, but minister thinks they are damm rich, so cut down on expenses, so they work harder to impress em, and students juggle between both ends. -

we have to botox a smile on our face for IMF and sell female companionship wiht extras to the delegates.
So a couple of LCDs and expensive decor is nothing. -
