  Argh.... RP just sent out an email that it will be mandatory for all students to apply this Microsoft patch whether or not their computers have this driver installed.
  
  The patch will be applied once they are in school.
  
  They never thought of the consequences. If they don't have this driver installed, it will cause BSOD because Windows can't find this driver anywhere. Then the helpdesk will have more headache.
  
  Can't they just send an email saying if you have this problem just go to the website and patch up?
  
  Idiotic move!

  you can block the update right? do it on your comp lor

  Cannot block, update is via school network. The minute you log on to RP and connect to the VPN, update is applied.
  
  Basket. I'm going to shoot off an email to the person in charge of IT.

  Siao ar... If I get BSOD, I'm going to have a hard time booting back to XP as audio is auto enabled in Windows.
