My cousin got a severe cut on her left arm which requires surgery... Got medishield but doctor say must come down with $2000 before surgery!!!

The thing is that medishield says coverage including ward, intensive care, surgery, etc, etc... But doctor can say need bring $2000 "cash"...
Can just subtract from medishield wat??? -

zzz... apparently got such thing... NUH got different company working for it in some surgeries and some of them don't accept medishield...

What hospital is that, govt/private & what kind of surgery is required? If it's a deep cut, at most need stiches only mah but surgery......?
Why not just go to a Govt hospital's A+E Dept?
