Pissed with agency!

  The employment agency called two days ago regarding a job offer as a cashier. He told me that I could work 8 hrs per day... so I calculated properly liao, I can earn more than what i was working as at the time (IT retail) as well as lesser working hours. So I quit the retail job and went for interview today for the post of cashier. Today the people at Giant told me that I can currently only work for 5 hrs/day. WTF... that means I can only earn about $650/month! My previous job could rake in $1000/month leh (not including commission). I feel so cheated..

  Well, if you want, you can try bringing it up with MOM.
  
  The labour laws cover part-timers as well.

  did u sign any job description / contract w/ the job agency, can refer back to that and hold them responsible.

  Lol, job agents ... their aim is to suck ur money, they dun give a damn to ur welfare, or whether ur pay is recieved promptly and they take every chance to reduce ur pay ... good luck to u ...

  Unfortunately, no... When I asked the agent about working eight hours, he just said "as long as you can commit more than 4 hours a day, can liao. 8 hours no problem"

  Come to think of it, I haven't received my pay from the agency from that previous job as a stock taker in carrefour

  not confirm yet la.. a client for a small web project vanished sia, sms no reply, email no reply. a few weeks liao, so i gotta assume something is wrong. but ftp still working, so i remove wadever i put up till he gets back to me lor.

  i recently kinda cheated by jobs company also. i'm damn upset by them.
