look i dislike smokers lots and its really their own fault for the sort of inconvenience they have to face. Nobody FORCED them to take up smoking, and the help to quit is always there. Look at Bear, an ex-heavy-smoker. He say stop almost immediately stop. Willpower, everyone has it, just whether u choose to use it.
But in this case, if non-smokers are STUPID enough to sit in the yellow boxes...... and breathe in all that 2nd hand smoke......
Still, if u cannot sit elsewhere n control your urge to smoke for like, 5 mins, until there is space freed inside the yellow box, u do have a very serious problem. -
i pity the smokers.
smoking is just a bad habit but is made to look more like a crime.

I can state that ciggarettes pose a threat not to health but to eco system of our planet . my friends and i took up 2 smoking tables at a coffeeshop for 3 hours... smoking and eating and TCSS..u should see the faces of the non smokers trying to find tables..it was prime hours ok
In the end, when we about to leave, i ask any smokers looking for table and ask them show their cigarette and let them have the tables...Wooohoooo

actually i find the "i want my fresh air" argument not very strong. Even if there's no ciggy smoke, there's still all that exhaust and all from cars/buses...why don't u ask the government to change all the vehicles in SG into hydro-powered ones then? Or you find smokers an "easy target"? The amount of seats allocated to smokers is already pathetic enough, yet some non-smokers want to encroach their space, this i think is very very unfair and selfish. If you ask us why can't we endure for a few minutes, leave after finishing our meal to smoke, then why do some non-smokers just order a few drinks and sit at the coffeeshop for 2-3 hours? We also like to chill out, it just so happens that we smoke what. It's not as if we are blowing our cigarette smoke directly into your face. And i personally never light up when there are small children/pregnant women in my vicinity. The government is already on the side of the non-smokers, i hope the public won't make our lives harder.

Just remember that a food centre is a place mainly for eating and drinking.
If you cannot understand that is the main purpose of a food centre, then i suggest you stop smoking because it clearly shows that smoking is damaging your brain.
Having a smoking area does not mean smokers have priority to sit in that area hor please....i seriously cannot understand why you all cannot go elsewhere to smoke after eating or drinking. There are many areas where you smoke what. So stop whining and if you wanna continue to whine, i also suggest you stop smoking because it clearly shows that smoking is making you a sissy. -

It has happened even before our generation and have actually accept that smokers WILL Smoke after their meals, at Kopitiam and Hawker Centres, until Food Court exist, these habits ceased.
Now that this Yellow box issue was raised. Non smokers seemed to talk as if they've never seen/expected food consumers to smoke after that.
Did you understand the few years back when you're a teenager and see people smoking in these places?
Even though you did not...but did you react strongly against it?
To me, it's simply.
I see Smokers - I shift to non 'cloudy' areas.
I wouldn't want to go and say 'KopiTiam is for Eating and Drinking leh Siao lian eh...'
I still want to sit at my favourite KT and makan one.
