Supermarket sells canned meat -- 4 months past its expiry

STOMPer Hazel was shopping for groceries at a 24-hour supermarket when she discovered a can of braised meat which had expired in August last year.
Said the STOMPer:
"I was at the 24-hour Shop 'n Save branch at JK Centre, Joo Chiat Road last night.
"One can of braised meat I intended to buy had expired way beyond the stipulated date.
"My concerns were: Doesn't Shop 'n Save make regular checks of the stock on their shelves?
"Do the authorities conduct spot checks on these supermarkets?
"With such profit-hungry merchants, who would protect food safety of the old and illiterate? With such small print, I am sure my mum and grandma wouldn't be able to spot the danger." -
