This sign at a Giant outlet encourages its customers to help dispose of
'fruit or vegetables of poor quality'. Is this an odd Marketing gimmick,
or are the staff at Giant too lazy to throw them out, wonders STOMPer johnk.
The STOMPer says:
"Is this just a strange PR/Marketing gimmick, or are the staff at Giant not capable of doing the dirty work themselves?"
I think it's good. It means giant is willing to make community part of them. I guess it's their CSR roadmap. for them!
i noticed shop and save at tampines mart dont wait until the items totally rot away.
they throw away unfresh portion before selling the remaining at 1/2 the original price.
giant should consider doing the same.
i buy such items to cut cost.
They can also encourage its customer to take it for free as some portion is still edible. For the very bad one, it is up to the customers. Alternatively, they can donate most of the not very good fruits but larger part still edible to organisation that does cooking
