If you are looking for property investment, it will depends on the view of investment that you are looking at. For returns or for future stay? We all know that developers like keppal land, far east and capital land are making real good money for development projects in singapore and overseas. Did anyone think before how they make their money? Did anyone think if there is any way to tag onto these concept?

Well, I saw three of the double storey houses at Taman Sri Putri, within Jalan Emas area, Skudai, in Johor Baru, already been sold to Singaporeans. They are renovating and adding some new features to their newly bought houses. I think they are not thinking about selling their landed property and freehold houses in Johor because the title deeds are transferable to foreigners or Malaysians buyers and besides it will be meant for their future generation. I saw one newly bought house with a spacious long frontyard has a 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympic Symbol constructed on its front entrance just outside the gate lols..just wondering why the owners did that....maybe a national athlete bought that house. I think they bought for a minimum sum of RM500,000 which is still worth it if they don't think about selling it. If compare to those houses within Iskandar project..its still cheaper.

One more double storey house at Taman Sri Putri, Jalan Emas 22, Skudai, Johor Bahru has been sold to Singaporean two weeks ago and they are doing the renovation now.

Yes, JB is suitable for most Singaporeans to go into semi-retirement or full retirement. However, the minimum quota of property purchase of RM500,000 and above for foreign ownership for a property in Malaysia will increase again...I don't know by how much but it will definitely increase. So if you can purchase a property in Malaysia now, don't wait any longer, find ways to do it now.

The way I see it now, the ISKANDAR project is getting too expensive for average Singaporeans to own a private property in Johor Bahru. The alternative right now if you really interested in purchasing a private property in JB you can look for other housing projects open to foreigners to purchase in other areas that is not far from JB and Singapore. Good luck to you in your hunting for a private property in JB.
