I've $2k to invest, but where?

I definitely want my money to grow better than putting in bank, but i'm afraid of losses that I can incur if I invest in shares.
Where can I 'safely' invest?

Can try to open a silver account to invest - DBS bank.
or can try to invest in Wine...stable but need holding power....the least 2 yrs.

Just keep in the bank, you look like you cannot stomach losses
Save a bit more and invest in blue chip shares, just keep this 2K under your pillow

If you really want a lil more returns, try bonds lo. But 2k really not much difference even if you put in bonds. And bonds hor, I dun mean any ah tiong company hor, where each bond like cheaper than photocopying a paper. Use ATM machine can buy bonds if i not wrong. But you above 18 yr old mah?

2K? What kind of return are you looking at? $5 annually?

invest in yourself.$1k can already do plenty business n purchase.....$2k is too much if u intend to invest in yerszelf n get thousand fold rewards.

In general: Safe = low returns, Unsafe = higher returns
Also depends how much you are comitted.
If you want can try and setup very small business, like selling things you make or buy. Can do that in person or on ebay.
Buy shares, but genrally returns won't be large with $2K even if it does well.
Put all on red if you want to instantly double or make it dissappear.

...if u depend on others....returns will be low forever.if u want it to be done right...u have to do it yerself if u know how to do it. if u have a bright idea and u know there will be indeed be a future market then the general judgement dun apply....just like the planets gravity n space.kinda hard to explain but somethings are just not the same unless u be the same by following conventional methods.....u need to think out of the box as they would say.if u have thought out of the box then ignore what i have said.but if u follpw the mainstream thoughts of all the people around u which is common....then the principle of low returns n high risk applies...

i mean depend mainly on or=thers for 50% operations everything fropm manpower,spare parts ,design to nuts n bolts......then u need more than $2k.....more like $2mil.

be like bill gates from microsoft and upstart hewlett packard who didnt need much or have any to build up something. thats the ideal way if u intend to be rich.

but of course if u are figuring out on math n have a hard time with science n technology and buy them instead of building....then becoming a bill gates or a hewlett packard or even makin it rich will be difficult.

Japanese Scientists Create Touchable Holograms
Researchers at Tokyo University revealed that they’ve been able to create touchable holograms, a key step in weaning us all off of interacting with computers using a keyboard or mouse. The technology is based on software that uses ultrasonic waves to create pressure on the hand of a user “touching” the projected hologram. The researchers used two Wii remotes from Nintendo’s Wii gaming system to track a user’s hand. Says Tokyo U professor Hiroyuki Shinoda: “Up until now, holography has been for the eyes only, and if you’d try to touch it, your hand would go right through. But now we have a technology that also adds the sensation of touch to holograms.”
