everything is in shares, not lots.
so u put 1,000 shares, not 1 lot. all prices quoted also in per share basis

I buy based how I view the business prospects, etc.
My recent purchases and their reasons:
1) First REIT at 0.665 by buying the rights at 0.165. Quite a brainless BUY because overseas investors were not eligible, and were forced to sell.
2) CapMallAsia at 1.86. Ah Gong stock, plus below IPO price of $2.12 with a 1ct dividend given.
3) Silverlake at 0.33. Bank financial software stock, with 5% dividend yield. Banking sector is recovering very well, and possibly expanding in the near future. Main clients include UOB and OCBC. Recently secured CIMB contract as well.
The charts didnt really look very well for CMA, but it is not my main decision factor anymore. In fact, I bought CMA and First REIT without looking at any charts.

I like Philips MMF, where I can park my funds while waiting for something nice for purchase.
The platform ok ok la, can use can liao.
Eagle, so overseas investors cannot buy rights for ALL stocks?
like tt those local investors can scoop up all excess rights at the cheap prices right?
mind sharing your First Reit story? u managed to buy more than your alloted rights?
I first observed FR at 40c, but I had no money at that time.
Then it went to 90+c. Declared rights.
When the rights were trading, waited till the 2nd last day before the rights trading closed. The selling should have been drying out around then. Scooped up small small 12 lots of rights at 0.165, then exercised at 50c.
I'm not sure if it is for all stocks, but it is the case for most that I saw. Local investors might not be able to scoop up cheap if another big investor decided to step in and buy from the other party at one go. That appeared to be the case 1 day after I bought, where there was a off-market big transaction.
