This workshop is suitable for investors who either have minimal knowledge of structured warrants or are now trading structured warrants. The workshop will help them to develop an organised method in choosing the most suitable warrants based on their own risk profile and their outlook on the underlying. Investors will also see things from the issuers' perspective and understand why they do what they do.
Speaker's Profile
Lid Ooi
Ooi Lid Seng has more than 15 years of experience in the financial industry. He was a Vice President at Societe Generale Singapore (Structured Products) where he was responsible for the structured warrants business focusing on sales, marketing and education. Before joining SocGen, Lid worked with a local broking house where he conducted seminars on structured warrants for dealers and remisiers. He also has more than 8 years of experience working as a dealer servicing institutional hedge funds from United States and United Kingdom marketing equities, company listed warrants and convertibles to fund managers. Before that, he was an Investment Anaylst conducting in-depth research on companies listed on the Singapore and Malaysia Stock Exchanges.
Lid wrote for a popular weekly column in the Straits Times and Lian He Zao Bao on structured warrants and has written articles which were published in financial magazines such as Pulses and SmartInvestors . He has also contributed articles on behalf of Singapore Investment Banking Association (SIBA) to MAS for publication in newspaper and makes appearances on television to talk about derivative products. He was on the Equity Derivatives Investment Education Sub-Committee of SIBA which main objective is to raise the knowledge of derivative financial products amongst the investing public.
Lid graduated with an MBA from the University of Oregon majoring in Finance and Management from US.
