Hi, I'm a newbie here, and really interested in the stock market. Recently I went to check Phillips Securities' online stock trading system(www.poems.com.sg), aka a brokerage firm. (Correct me if i'm wrong)
'All applicants must be 18 years old and above.'
And to be honest, I'm only 14. Yes, I'm that young, but I've read up a bit on it. Let's assume I have enough capital to start investing in shares. Is there any way I can start?
You know what they say about stock market tops.
Everybody wants to open an account - ah ma, ah pek and now even secondary school students.
Yeah I know what you mean. -.-
But I'm not some 'ah ma, ah pek and now even secondary school students' who wants to follow the trend of rich people - investing in stocks, and getting their hands on big money.
I'm interested. Not in money. And I don't mind not starting straightaway with buying already.
u can get your parents to buy on your behalf.
u can open a securities account when you are 18, but 21 if u want to open a trading account.
Securities account is with CDP, is to keep your shares
Trading account is with those brokerages, to buy and sell your shares through

Sorry to say but I do not think when u are trading its not because u are not interested in money. Why start to buy when u know nuts at it? I will say u do paper trading first then u are old enough then u open up an account and start to trade with cash. U search on the internet whether they have any trading firms that offer simulation trading program that lets u have the experience to trade without using real $
