Fixed Deposits, Government Treasury Bills and Bonds are all considered as low risk investment. But low risk would also mean low return. With the current high rate of inflation, the returns from these low risk instruments may not be sufficient to compensate for inflation.
Therefore, you may want to consider assuming a little more risk in order to obtain a return which would at least compensate for inflation.
If you have little experience with investing your money, I would strongly suggest that you engage a properly qualified Wealth Manager (Alpha Financial, IFast Singapore, etc) to manage your portfolio. Note that Wealth Managers are different from the Customer Relations Officers that you may have encountered in banks trying to sell you their Mutual Trusts. These CROs are only interested in selling you products which will make them the most commission. Do not buy anything from them!
BTW, if you ever come across investments which are marketed as low risk but high return - avoid them. They are probably scams!
Good luck!

Try preference shares? :)

Try iFast Singapore or Alpha Financial. i had pretty good experience with them. I don't have the contact information with me now. But you can google for more information.
How much do you have to invest?
You might want to consider some Singapore counters with high yields.
Example of a high yield portfolio:
