how should i start? any books will be recommended for me to prep me for the basics of investing esp those more practical ones and not general ones?
If you're talking about Unit Trusts,
In terms of fees, different products will have different fees.
When you are doing you're homework, you have to be comfortable with what they are doing with your money, what their investments are in exactly, and also be comfortable with their management fee and terms.
Sorry if that's not specific, because one Unit Trust can be completely different with the next one.
If you want to read more on general investment articles please go to www.investopedia.com that is good to build up some basic understanding. Magazines like Forbes and Fortune do not discuss investment thoroughly.
