investing in unit trusts/forex

hello ppl, actually i've been interested in investment for qt some time. but lately, i like to venture beyond just reading financial mag like forbes and fortune. after going through many threads on investment, i'd like to start an acct perhaps wif dollardex, fundsupermart or poems. which platorm is the best in terms of admin costs etc.?
how should i start? any books will be recommended for me to prep me for the basics of investing esp those more practical ones and not general ones? -
go to the bank and ask those bankers.

bankers? i noe got some 3rd party banks that provide unit trusts? but i'd like to start on my own to learn, do my hw and stuff yah.

lately i kept being approached by those so called financial consultant, even those at bank, ask me invest this and that. Well, altho I have the intention to, but i think it would be better if i have some basic knowledge before i dump my money in.
Anyway market so good now.. dun think it's a gd time to invest. Altho one of them told me u get more returns in the current situation.

In terms of fees, different products will have different fees.
When you are doing you're homework, you have to be comfortable with what they are doing with your money, what their investments are in exactly, and also be comfortable with their management fee and terms.
Sorry if that's not specific, because one Unit Trust can be completely different with the next one.
If you want to read more on general investment articles please go to www.investopedia.com that is good to build up some basic understanding. Magazines like Forbes and Fortune do not discuss investment thoroughly. -
