currently schooling and will only graduate in another 3 years, all the trading of shares goes through my dad's account. feel that it would be good to have my own trading account, (1) as i'm getting older, might want finances to be more personal/private, (2) no need to make transfers to dad's account upon payment of shares.
i believe some credit cards have a scheme whereby customers need only a required sum as deposit. if only if there's one for trading.

I dont know is there a minimum age requirement to open a trading account at a broker? I never notice this point. Anybody knows? How old are you anyway? Above 21 already?

above 21. problem is no income.

Why is it a problem? You said you made transfers to your dad's account, so that means you have some personal money at your disposal. Why not just open an account at a broker under your own name, and use your own fund.

so there's no criteria for income?
saw this column on the kayhian forms i acquired from uob invest shop to indicate income. and somewhere along the way there's this trading limit to be filled in my the staff, think its related to income. nvm.
shall try again at invest shop after i sell off the current shares i'm holding.

I haven't opened any accounts at any Singapore brokers, I don't know their requirements exactly, but usually if they want to know your income, it's probably used to assign you some trading level/ trading limit/ trading capability.
Let's see......
Btw I bluffed my US broker when I filled up my form, I just filled in anything I want. No problem what.
