heard from some where say that stocks must be held for at least 2 weeks before they can be sold. to prevent rich people generating noise in the market to mislead smaller investers
is it true? so if i go and buy a stock i must hold it for at least 2 weeks before i can sell it?
Not true. You may buy shares in the morning and sell them in the afternoon if you wish to do so. I am not aware of such a "lock in" rule. The only situation I know where a shareholder has to "lock in" his shares is when he/she is a substantial shareholder prior to the IPO and listing of a new company share. That "lock in" period would be 6 months.
