Living your life the way you want to live is the most important thing, so if you have to pay small prices along the way it's not important.
You don't want to look back when you are 55, wishing you had done this or that when you were younger.
Ultimately, your life is yours to live.

if i dun go for that Fucking piece of paper, i'd definitely regret it for the rest of my life.. I wanted to be a trader... I was so sure I was on the right path.. until they changed my course... and when i checked with unis in other countries... no advance standing
...
most of my frenz who graduate from the course ( i dropped out halfway) are doin accounts/administrative work... in case u guys are wondering

Is there any chance that you get back to the course which you dropped out of? i mean, since you've completed it halfway, might as well finish it right. Maybe u could have some arrangement with the uni to do it part time?
IMO, getting a worthless piece of paper, is better than no paper at all.. (U neva know when a Degree in Toilet Bowl Cleaning may come in handy ). It may not be in the area you want. But then, a lot of ppl I know dun end up in the field they graduated in.
If you are sexy enough, JP Morgan Chase and Temasek Holdings will be VERY interested in you. I suggest you take part in many beauty pageants and win them if you intend to work in the financial industry.Originally posted by shinta:at age 30?

jing cai? in what sense?
i rather do w/o this kinda jing cai... affected me in certain ways.. tho it gave me a "what can be worse than ....." kinda attitude
my course was with NYP.. not a uni.. no, i'm not gg to complete it. even if they let me do so for free... i'd be wasting my time. rather do sth else from scratch.
if i went on to finish the course, i'd be holding a diploma in financial services (what i did was crap.. i learned more stuff from the library books published way back in 1995 than lectures by lecturers who dunno how to teach or pass information down to students.. ) and working as web admin...
did i mention i got a job immediately n didn went thru the jobless phase?
so i dun see how my choice earlier was.. what do u call it.. not a good one.
hmmmmmmmmmmmm
if they didn change the course structure, i wouldn have stick it thru even if it meant walking to nyp's campus from yishun. i didn retake my o levels to do sth i have no interest in... heck i could have done so at my first try... at least i'd be doin IT

A starting salary of 5k a month plus random rewards of profit sharing, stock options, 6 month bonuses and salary increments is something many ladies will die for.
ah...Originally posted by k4korny:jing cai, in the sense that it's full of ups and downs..
U learn more abt yourself and life in general this way ba.. although most ppl would rather that they dun want to go thru this kind of experience.
I din say that your choice was a bad one.. What I meant was that a paper qualification in something that you dun like, is better than nothing.. esp. when it comes to promotion and job change. At least you can bargain for a better pay.
For me, I grad in Engineering. but my first job was in software programming (which is what I'm better at). I got the job cos of some of the stuff i did on my own during my uni days. Altho what I studied is completely unrelated, I'm still drawing the pay of a grad.. As compared to if i had quit school and got a programmer job, I would have been paid much lower.
Im serious you know...my lecturer was the one that say that. He say that pretty girls are best suited to work in the financial industry. Just look at those Fund Managers. They dress more like models than office workers.Originally posted by shinta:

Newsweek did a survey or interview with the CEOs of fortune 500 companies several yrs ago on the preferred college degrees to take. 1st Engineering, 2nd Economics. So why waste time of a degree in finance? Unless you are not interested in any of those twos, then finance is fine..
