Punggol Point LRT Station to open on Dec 29
SINGAPORE: Punggol Point Station on the West Loop of the Punggol Light Rapid Transit (LRT) system will open for service next Thursday (Dec 29).
In a press release on Monday, SBS Transit said the new station will provide convenience to commuters, especially those staying along Ponggol Seventeenth Avenue.
Once open, the LRT trains will operate in one direction, starting from Sam Kee Station to Punggol Town Station in a continuous loop till 3pm daily, skipping Teck Lee Station and Samudera Station which are not yet in operation.
From 3pm to the end of service, the trains will move in the opposite direction, starting from Punggol Town Centre Station to Sam Kee Station.
The trains will operate at a frequency of between seven to eight minutes throughout the day, and there is no change to the timings of the first and last train.
Teck Lee Station and Samudera Station will open when their surrounding areas are developed, SBS Transit added.
