want to compare compare japan de lah
Singapore's MRT is 'R' first, then 'T'.
Hong Kong's MTR is 'T' first, then 'R'.
When the MTR has disruptions in hong kong, do you read about it?
Does it get published in our papers?
I don't think so.
positive comments about hk mtr from CNN.
oh yes, mtr keeps breaking down we are not informed. Sg mrt so much better, hardly breaks down. Perhaps CNN should praise sg mrt, too. Praise lui tuck yew ....
hahahahahahahaha .............
si ai mian zi ........ t d s, really!
full of assumption and herd mentality
Eh, HK MTR also breaks down esp the East Rail line which as inherited from KCR
Bsides tt, HK MTR has exceeded budget n deadline for CN, HK express rail link...
But on the other hand, HK MTR breaks down, train fault rectified by/within 2hours, sometimes lesser than tt...
Sofar no complete shutdown like SG(touchwood)...
If compare Japan, muz note
JR n each city's metro r run differently...
JR is JR
City's metro line is run by the city's tpt(can b private or public/private partnership)

Which one in the world does not break down?
It depends how transport providers deal with breakdown problem. Find the root cause and solution to prevent frequent breakdown. Prob with sg mrt is it breaks down too often. What I said has nothing to do with "full of assumption and herd mentality".
no point keep increasing fares and continue to have continuous frequent breakdown.

Anyway, Japan's railway company had a strict policy of punctuality and they are not hesitated to punish their drivers if they are late, be it salary 'penalty' or humiliating retraining program e.g cutting weeds if you get the picture. Due to the pressure imposed on the staff, the worst accident known as Amagasaki Derailment Crash happened in 2005. We just crossed our fingers that disaster like this don't happened in Singapore.

We are following HK MTR, fares keep on increasing with more breakdowns, HKers are also pissed...
Maintenance regime seems to b lacking the seniors/pioneers who were w SMRT before prev CEO seem to have found them redundant while focusing on increasing revenue...

True, used JR LOCAL trains in Kyushu, Osaka, Kyushu n Tokyo
All stations publish the train arrival on panels...
Dun say so far away, we cant even copy Taipei MRT system... Safe, Reliable, Punctual, announcements in 4 languages, train
station info in every mrt train, in SG, newer trains dun even have
What makes it more ludricrous is the total shutdown of line when power trip happens,
I am not an engineer but, common sense shld be power source should be by area/station so tt any trip does not paralyse the system...
If a power trip happens at station, train can U turn at the prev station to minimize massive disruption.

I also surprised.
I thought such a complex system has many different branches de. parallel arrangement. where voltage is the same, current divided according to resistance of the individual branches...
anyway, in Parallel circuits, if one branch is open, the other branches should still have voltage flowing through, right?
unless, the circuit breaker is in the same branch as the Voltage source.
Okay. I think I know what happen already.
but... I thought in such a complex system, definitely there is more than one voltage source?
:/ sorry ah. my engineering not good.

Really in 4 languages?
Hey, thanks for the sharing!
We need to learn this from them.
if announcements are said in all four languages, there would not be complains, like what SMRT received when they had station names said in Chinese, because every language is played. Fair enough.
