'Rain' in MRT throughout entire North-East line journey

  STOMPer fail was surprised to see an MRT train on the North-East line leaking so badly that it seemed like it was raining in the cabin.

   

  Said the STOMPer:

   

  "I thought I was lucky when I saw empty seats in the train. Then, I realized why the seats were empty. 

   

  "It's 'raining' in the train! And trust me, everyone was in disbelief.

   

  "I'm not sure why the ceiling was leaking, I doubt it's due to the aircon because the leak was really bad.

   

  "It had been leaking since I boarded the train at Sengkang and the leak got worse throughout the train journey.

   

  "It's still leaking when I alighted at Harbourfront! That's like almost the entire train journey on the North-East line!"

  Water leakage in NEL train

  SINGAPORE: A train on the North East line was reported to be leaking badly on Wednesday morning.

  A commuter travelling from Sengkang to Harbourfront on the affected train posted a picture online, saying it was "raining in the train".

  According to the commuter, the leakage continued throughout the entire journey.
  
  In response to Channel NewsAsia's enquiries, an SBS Transit spokesperson confirmed the incident.
  
  Senior Vice President of SBS Transit Corporate Communications Tammy Tan said the water leakage was 'due to an electronic failure in the air-conditioning control system'.
  
  She added that the fault has since been rectified.
